Thomas, who was christened on 8/1/1815, married Sarah BARWELL, the daughter of John and Mary Barwell, who was born in Gretton Northamptonshire in 1812. They were married in late 1830's. Sarah died somewhere between 1843 and 1854, when Thomas decided to come to Australia with his three children.
Thomas and his 3 children left in late August 1854 aboard the ship Bengal. The voyage took six months during which 9 people died and were buried at sea. The Pywell's however, all kept in good health. The Bengal arrived in Sydney on 25/2/1855
The Pywell's moved north to the hunter valley. Sometime later, the family - minus Mary Ann, moved to the Glen Innes area. Here, Thomas Sr selected land in the area. There, he lived with his son until his death. He died 9/2/1881 at Clairville, where he was a Grazier. He was 66 years old. He is buried at Clairville. -
