Narrative
From Apiti, 'Where's that?' by Ivor George:
Harry Burne was born at Scott's Ferry near Bulls. He moved to Apiti when he was in his early 20s, taking over the propoerty of Miss Katherine Taylor, on e of the original members of the Association.
In 1902 he married Florence Mangham of Halcombe but died 14 years later at the age of 52 years.
He was a diabetic... At the time of his death he was a councillor, representing the Manapikopiko Riding, and captain of the rifle club. He had also taken an active part in the sports meeting in the district.
